Bridges

A bridge (sometimes called a fixed partial denture) replaces missing teeth with artificial teeth and literally bridges the gap where one or more teeth may have been. A bridge can help maintain the shape of your face and removes the stress in your bite by replacing missing teeth.

Bridges can be made from gold, alloys, porcelain, or a combination of these materials. A dentist bonds the bridge onto surrounding teeth for support. You can take out a removable bridge for cleaning, but only a dentist can remove a fixed bridge. An implant bridge attaches artificial teeth directly to an artificial root that is attached to the jaw bone.
